Who We Are and What We Do
“Residential care facility for the elderly” (or RCFE) means a housing arrangement chosen voluntarily by the resident, the resident’s guardian, conservator or other responsible person; where 75 percent of the residents are sixty years of age or older and where varying levels of care and supervision are provided, as agreed to at time of admission or as determined necessary at subsequent times of reappraisal. Any younger resident must have needs compatible with other residents. [Title 22, 87101(r)(5)]
Friends Home Care at Morgan Valley is a six-bed RCFE. It is a detached, single-level home located in an upscale residential neighborhood in Morgan Valley at the southern end of Butterfield Stage Road in Temecula. It is licensed to accept up to six residents who live in either a private or semi-private room, cared for by professional caregivers who live in the facility 24/7.
Friends Home Care at Morgan Valley accepts residents who require varying levels of assistance with activities of daily living, which includes, but not limited to, the following:
• taking medication (including ordering medication and supplies)
• dressing
• eating (including feeding assistance)
• toileting
• bathing
• grooming
• mobility (including transferring to and from bed)
• telephoning
• correspondence
• central storing and distribution of medication
• arrangement of and assistance with medical and dental care
• supervision of resident schedules and activities
• maintenance and supervision of resident property
• monitoring of food intake or special diets
Friends Home Care at Morgan Valley is not a medical facility and cannot accept or retain residents who require medical, intermediate or skilled nursing care. The Facility also cannot accept residents with prohibited health conditions as defined under Title 22 Section 87615(a) such as:
(1) Stage 3 and 4 pressure sores
(2) Gastrostomy care
(3) Naso-gastric tubes
(4) Staph infection or other serious infection
(5) Tracheotomies
Individuals who are not able to manage self care or receive assistance and supervision from a skilled medical professional also cannot be accepted into the Facility.
Residents can choose between a private or a shared room. There are four private rooms and one shared room (the master bedroom) in the facility. Rooms are subject to availability.
Each room is provided with a bed, mattress, beddings, blanket, pillows, night stand, chest of drawers, lamp, and a chair. Residents are welcome to bring their own furnishings and furnitures provided they fit and are suitable for use in the facility.
All rooms are cable-TV-ready. A wide-screen high-definition cable TV is also provided in the family room for the residents’ entertainment.
The facility prepares and provides all meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and in-between-meal snacks to the residents as part of the basic monthly fee. Residents requiring special diets can be accommodated depending on the type of diet required.
Facility staff does all the residents’ laundry, their beds, cleans their rooms, and assists them with their daily needs.
Friends Home Care is licensed to accept and retain residents on hospice and works with all licensed hospice agencies to provide care to residents needing hospice services.
